I didn't get the chance earlier today (yes it's still the 11th here, so eat it), so happy Veterans Day to all my brothers and sisters. Past and present, thank you for all you've done and all you continue to do.

Why The Cycle-Scene in Japan Rules

Alright, dig that bike, it's a customized out the wazzoo Harley-Davidson Sportster (Harley's version of a sportbike circa 1950). Note the guy riding it looks like a regular person, not a Hells Angels wannabe-reject.
Almost every time I look at pics of custom bikes/choppers (whether its a Harley, or a Honda or whatever with two wheels) built in Japan for the locals, the people always look so happy, lots of smiles and all that. It's almost like they're just so friggin ecstatic to have the machine. Such a change of pace from the jagoffs that show in places like Hollister or Panama City for Thunder Beach.
It's just cool.

OK, it seems that maybe the half page updates were maybe too often, or perhaps just not long enough for people to get into the rhythm of each update, so we've made a few changes to the website. I was originally worried about people having to scroll around too much, which is why I snipped the pages in half, to make them more screen shaped.
I think that maybe made people expect it to be a gag-a-day kinda comic strip, like with a punchline at the end of each page, but it's not, it's a story comic. A funny story comic, but not a punchline-y comic.
Now they are full pages! I think this makes each entry more fun to read, and hopefully you will too.
Here's a link to today's double length instalment, and starting next week we'll update a full page like this every Tuesday:

The entire archive has been updated too.
Let us know what you think!

Just wanted to say that my bookie is now carried by a few more stores! They won't have stock 'til next week, but still! The stores are the following:
The Outer Limits, 437 Moody Street, Waltham, Massachusetts, Phone: 781-891-0444
Atlantis Fantasyworld, 1020 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz, California, Phone: 831-426-0158
Dragon's Lair Comics & Games, 6111 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas, Phone: 512-454-2399
As I mentioned, these stores are supporting me and I'm going to do what I can do support them right back. If you know someone who might be keen on my bookie and lives nearby one of these stores, give 'em a gentle nudge for me, ok?
Thanks!
Von

The Vest I made for Nick
I can't believe I forgot to post a picture of Nick's finished vest!
These are pretty dark pictures, I'll have to catch Nick out in the daylight sometime (more difficult than it sounds, actually). Overall, it turned out very well.
The only thing I screwed up was forgetting to trim the excess on one of the armholes before turning it right-side out, which means around one armhole is a little more difficult to get flat.
My next big sewing project is going to be either a vest for Will, or an elastic-backed lolita skirt. I need a project to force me to learn how to sew in elastic!
