LACKLUSTER WORLD #6 Preview and Pre-Order

The first thirteen pages are online ready to suck all the color out of your pretty eyes. I’ve also posted the book up for pre-order in the LW store. I greatly appreciate pre-orders as they help me cover the up-front printing costs.

I’ll start shipping books the day I get them from the printer — in early to mid-December.

Here’s a plot description:

“While institutionalized, Kelvin embarks on an existential adventure with Jesus! Meanwhile, Celsius is alone for the first time and, desperate for normalcy, she employs Fahrenheit to play Kelvin’s role in her life. Fahrenheit tries to sort things out between her, Herman’s developing affection towards her, and the still-growing crowd of fanatics he’s unintentionally inspired.”

Chicago Comic Con 2009

This weekend, I, Eric Adams, will be setting up at Chicago Comic Con (formerly known as Wizard World Chicago)! My table number is 5308 – I’m against the back wall.

For the first time in my history, I’ll be there on Thursday for preview night! So, I’ll be there for all four days. Long… excruciating… endless days. Fill them for me with purchases of my fine goods. Or, commission me to draw you a sketch. I’ll have my shiny new markers with me and with them I would be happy to output something not-so-shiny. Lackluster, if you will.

I will have the still somewhat new JESUS & TALKING BEAR SHIRTS, the one-shot 16-pager REFLECTION, and of course all the usual LW wares.

Sadly, LACKLUSTER WORLD #6 will NOT be available at Chicago Comic Con this weekend. I know I’ve told some that it would be printed and ready for consumption by this time and since I have no idea how far that word of mouth has spread, I thought it prudent to be clear. LW6 is NOT yet complete.

So, when will it be complete? In just a few weeks. I just couldn’t get it finished and printed in time for the show. I’ll be at Pittsburgh Comicon next month and while I’m not promising I’ll have it ready in time for that con, it does look likely that I will. Details, of course, forthcoming.

For anyone attending Chicago, I’ll be accepting pre-orders for LW6 and to make it worth your while, I’ll pay the shipping expense.

CANCELLED: Pop Culture Con

It’s come to my attention that Pop Culture Con has been cancelled. It was scheduled to be one of my convention stops this fall, but things fell apart with it. As of this the moment the Pop Culture Con website does not reflect this news.

I’ll be at Chicago Comic-Con (formerly known as Wizard World Chicago) in just a few weeks. More on that soon.

GEM CITY COMIC CON 2009 was a couple weeks ago and I can’t say I have all that much to share regarding the show, but here goes:

I must say it went much better than I expected. I went last year and did so-so sales-wise so I was apprehensive to return. Not really sure what was different this year, but maybe it just needed a couple years to grow it’s legs.

The usual gang was there: Chuck Moore, Bill Gladman and John Wilson of ComicRelated.com. Darren and Jackie of Ringtail Cafe. Bob Hickey of Blue Line Pro. Jon Hodges. My neighbor at the show was Dustin Carson (he writes an interesting comic called NO GODS [Review at CR]).

I sold the crap out of my JESUS & TALKING BEAR tee shirts.

The Underground Video Network did a mini-interview with me where I gave my standard LACKLUSTER WORLD sales pitch. Here’s the vid. My segment starts around the 3:00 mark.

Like I said, it went better than I expected, so I’ll be returning next year.
